Caroline Jones

Certified Nurse Midwife

Caroline Jones has had the pleasure of calling Lubbock her home for the past 12 years. As the owner and clinical director of Held Midwifery & Wellness, she is dedicated to empowering women and families through personalized, compassionate care.

Her Journey

Childbirth has fascinated Caroline ever since she was young, and she has always had a passion for helping others. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2015, she spent over eight years working as a labor and delivery nurse. This experience fueled her desire to spend more time with birthing families, guide women through their healthcare choices, and empower them to make informed decisions.

To deepen her expertise, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse-Midwifery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2023. With over three years of experience assisting births in out-of-hospital settings, she is thrilled to offer services like preconception counseling, pregnancy and birth care, well-woman care, family planning, and lactation consultation.

Family

Caroline is blessed with a wonderful family—her husband Brooks and their three children: Eleanor (7), Emilia (5), and Banks (3). When she's not working, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, baking, and decorating cookies. They are also planning to develop their homestead on 60 acres in Shallowater soon.

Held Midwifery & Wellness

Caroline truly feels called to this role, and her goal is to build a strong network of healthcare providers dedicated to women's health and make midwifery care accessible to everyone who desires it.

At Held Midwifery & Wellness, they’re more than just healthcare providers—they’re your partners in health, your advocates, and your support system. Caroline looks forward to walking this journey with you and offering care that honors your unique needs and choices.

Jennifer Smith

Student Midwife & Office Assistant

Jennifer is a student midwife dedicated to supporting women and families through meaningful, individualized care. A Lubbock local, she is passionate about creating nurturing and informed experiences for families as they welcome new life. Jennifer is currently completing her midwifery education through the Association of Texas Midwives and is honored to be part of a field that celebrates connection, strength, and intentionality.

Jennifer’s Journey

Jennifer’s path toward midwifery grew out of her own season of growing her family. Especially with the birth of her daughter, who came after a season of loss and longing. That experience revealed how deeply women need tenderness, and steady support. It was during this time that she began her doula training, which led to her first experience with midwifery and from then on, she felt called to be in the birth world.

Since then, Jennifer has been committed to creating spaces of calm and compassion where families feel seen, supported, and encouraged in their care. Each experience reminds her of the power of presence the way steady, caring support can help families feel safe, seen, and deeply cared for as they welcome new life.

Family

Jennifer has been married to her husband, Russell, since 2015. Together they are raising four children Khai, Charlotte, Cathryn, and Randall. Their family lives in Shallowater on a small homestead, where days are full, but there is always room for connection and gratitude. It reminds her daily of the beauty found in slowing down, listening closely, and holding space for families as they move through their own seasons of growth and change.

Held Midwifery & Wellness

Jennifer is honored to learn from the midwives and families who make up the Held Midwifery & Wellness community. She’s grateful for the wisdom shared through student training and inspired by the spirit of collaboration that shapes her growth as a future midwife.
